A T-shirt (also spelled T-shirt or, in rectified spelling, t-shirt without hyphen; sometimes called short-sleeved vest in French-speaking Canada and knitting in French-speaking Africa or gaminet, the latter term being of more limited use), is a bodysat that owes its name to its "T" shape, without collar and initially short sleeves but possibly long sleeves, hooded or turtleneck. It is made of mesh fabric (extendable). The T-shirt was originally worn as underwear, but is now used as a garment in its own right, marking the relaxation of its wearer, especially in the summer.
